Photographer. At least, I used to be.

I’m Magnus Nilsson, a photographer based in Karlskrona, Blekinge, in the south of Sweden. I’ve been behind a camera since 2008, photographing people, weddings and businesses — first out of passion, and eventually as a profession.

Over the years, photography became more than just taking pictures. There were clients, deadlines, equipment, lighting setups and an endless pursuit of getting everything just right. Somewhere along the way, I lost a little of what made me pick up a camera in the first place.

In 2018, I put the cameras away and moved on to a completely different line of work. No grand farewell, no dramatic final shot. I simply stopped.

But photography has a habit of sticking with you. These days, I’m finding my way back, taking pictures because I want to, exploring places around Blekinge and beyond, and trying to enjoy the process rather than overthink every frame.

This website is where I share that journey. Portraits, landscapes, commercial work and whatever else catches my eye. Some photographs are carefully planned. Others happen because I happened to be in the right place with a camera.

I’m not here to pretend I’ve got it all figured out. I’m here to take pictures, see where it leads, and hopefully make something worth looking at along the way.
